The event took place at the prestigious Judges’ Lodgings next to Lincoln Castle, where visiting judges throughout history have taken up temporary residence whilst sitting at the Crown Court.
15 legal professionals attended the event to network with Law Society members, including HH Judge Morris and representatives from a number of local law firms including Ringrose Law, Bridge Macfarland, Langley’s Solicitors and McKinnels.
After an opening speech from Mr Richard Dale of Dale & Co. Solicitors, students had the opportunity to meet and speak with the legal professionals.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet and an entertaining and inspiring speech from HHJ Morris, who spoke of everything from historical cases to the place of the lawyer in the modern world.
70 students attended the event, continuing the University of Lincoln Law Society’s trend of high membership attendance.
President of the Law Society, Steven Williams, said: “The Law Society's first networking event in the Judge's Lodgings was a huge success. The opportunity to speak to representatives from different fields of law gave students an invaluable insight.
“We are incredibly grateful to our guests for joining us in the grand building. We look forward having you with us again soon. We kindly thank Mr Richard Dale from Dale & Co Solicitors for sponsoring the evening and for the speech he gave.
“The evening was a fantastic occasion all round.”
The University of Lincoln Law Society is currently the largest society on campus, and continues to build strong ties with the local legal community.
